A set of statistical variables and interactive maps related to youth rural migration in Tunisia

As part of the statistical mapping on determinants and effects of rural migration in Tunisia, the RuMiT research project has compiled more than one hundred variables disaggregated at governorate level from official Tunisian statistical sources. Two scores of key variables among them have been selected to produce a collection of interactive maps showing their geographical distribution across the 24 Tunisian governorates. Selected variables refer to demographics, internal and international migration flows, regional development, education, economic activity, unemployment and activity rates, poverty rates and household expenditure.

The Study on rural migration in Tunisia (RuMiT) is implemented by the MPC in the framework of the project of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) “Youth Mobility, Food Security and Poverty Reduction: Fostering Rural Diversification Through Enhanced Youth Employment and Better Labour Mobility”.
