Roundtable on ‘Breaking cycles of trauma: Protecting and offering dignity to refugees in the East African region, 15th February 2018
The Department of Political and Social Sciences, in affiliation with the Migration Policy Centre (MPC) at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS), will host a roundtable event on, ‘Breaking cycles of trauma: Protecting and offering dignity to refugees in the East African region’, on 15th February 2018 from 17.00 – 19.00.
It will include a presentation by Marguerite Barankitse, an internationally acclaimed humanitarian activist and founder of Maison Shalom, an NGO devoted to provide education to refugees from Burundi in Rwanda. “Maggie” Barankitse will present the project together with EUI alumnus Jonathan Zaragoza, the managing director of Maison Shalom. The presentation will be followed by a roundtable discussion.
