Join a seminar where Fabian Lutz will present his reasearch on a ‘Guide to Schengen Law’.

His research is based on literature and also on key informant interviews with twenty-five ‘Schengen veterans’, i.e., officials who had worked for a long time on Schengen issues in European and national administrations in the 1980ies and 1990ies. In this seminar, Fabian will present new findings on how Schengen emerged, how its current design was shaped and which topics are likely to dominate the future political agenda.

Speaker:

Fabian Lutz (Robert Schuman Centre for Advances Studies, EUI; and European Commission).

Discussants:

Ludivine Stewart (EUI – Department of Law);

Bronwen Manby (European University Institute).

Chair:

Martin Ruhs (Migration Policy Centre, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, EUI).
