Susan Kneebone

Visiting Fellow
Professor Susan Kneebone is a Professorial Fellow and Associate, Asian Law Centre, Melbourne Law School, Faculty of Law, University of Melbourne. Formerly she was Professor, Faculty of Law, Monash University, where she researched and taught migration law, refugee law and human trafficking issues. Professor Kneebone supervises a number of PhD students on migration issues in South East Asia. Her recent research, funded by ARC grants, focuses on issues around governance of forced migration in South East Asia. She is currently conducting research on an ARC funded project: ‘Towards Development of a Legal Framework for Regulation of International Marriage Migration’. At the Robert Schuman Centre in the European University Institute, she is researching the topic ‘Regional Governance of Transnational Migrant Workers: An EU-ASEAN Comparison’. Research topics: migration including labour and marriage migration, governance of migration, ASEAN and the Bali Process Geographic areas: Southeast and East Asia
