Biography
Maria has been working at the European University Institute since 2021. She was hired by the Robert Schuman Centre (RSC) to run a large-scale social media communication campaign for the Conference on the Future of Europe.
After two years of implementing the Robert Schuman Centre’s communication strategy—adapting academic content into engaging and accessible formats—Maria transitioned to programmes within the RSC. At the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom, she supports the project Voices, the European Festival of Journalism and Media Literacy.
At the Migration Policy Centre, Maria manages communication strategies and develops targeted campaigns to promote its events, training sessions, and research outputs.
Maria holds degrees in Journalism and International Relations. In 2021, she received the Premio Optimus 2020 from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, an annual award recognising the top student from each faculty. Before joining the EUI, she worked for the Instituto John Henry Newman and the Expanded Reason Institute in Madrid.
When not in the office, Maria enjoys dancing salsa, hiking, and reading.
