Biography

Mohamed Abdelsamad is a a social-educational facilitator of Egyptian origin who has long been committed to promoting the rights of migrants in Italy. After gaining experience in the non-profit and volunteer sectors, he realized that social education was his true calling, which led him to earn a a professional qualification in the field. He now works as an educator in a reception centre in Florence.

Mohamed also collaborates with several organisations as an intercultural mediator — a role he carries out with great care. This work allows him to support and guide Arabic-speaking people arriving in Italy who are looking to build a new future. At the U-Lead programme, he supports as a Youth Coach, bringing lived experience and cultural expertise.

Looking ahead, Mohamed hopes to focus his work on unaccompanied migrant children.
