Biography

Negar Katirai is a Visiting Fellow at the European University Institute’s Migration Policy Center and Director of the Gender Justice and Child Welfare Workshop at the University of Arizona College of Law. Her scholarship focuses on the intersection of immigration and family law and experiences of violence, fostering collaboration between practitioners and academics.

As Director of the Gender Justice and Child Welfare Workshop, Professor Katirai also supervises law students in research and advocacy projects to influence decision-makers and promote policies that protect vulnerable populations.

In 2022, she received a Fulbright award to study Domestic Violence Fatality Reviews in Australia. She has been recognised as a Distinguished Public Service Scholar by her peers and honored by the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona.
