Biography

Omar Fikri is a Youth Coach for the u-Lead project. He collaborates as an external expert with the Migration Policy Center at the European University Institute. Born in Morocco, he came to Italy for his studies. earned a degree in Languages, Literatures, and Intercultural Studies, and is currently completing a master’s in Practices, Languages, and Cultures of Communication.

Alongside his academic pursuits, Omar works as a social educator at the cooperative Il Girasole, with a focus on unaccompanied foreign minors. He has experience as an Arabic language and cultural mediator for the Prefecture, where he supports services for asylum seekers. Moreover, he currently collaborates with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Juvenile Court of Florence as a translator and mediator.

He is also a trainer for the Crescendo project, promoted by the Giorgio La Pira Center, which focuses on personal growth, integration, and intercultural dialogue.

Omar’s professional goal is to continue working in social development, mediation, and migration, areas where he is committed to making a meaningful contribution.
