Juan Roch

Visiting Fellow
Juan Roch is a Margarita Salas postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). He holds a PhD in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin, and he has been visiting researcher at University of Berkeley, California. His research stands at the intersection between European politics, nationalism, and populism studies, analyzing the discourses of prominent populist actors as well as their legitimation strategies. He has published articles in international journals such as The British Journal of Politics and International Relations, Politics, Nations & Nationalism, or Political Studies. He has previously studied solidarity attitudes in the context of migration at Universität Hildesheim and the rise of new social movements at Universidad Oberta de Catalunya.
